Chaweng Beach is the most popular beach in Samui with its 7 km is the island's longest sand strip and the most developed, as well as the largest town, despite the recent development, Chaweng maintains the classic image of a tropical beach fringed by coconut palms. Its fine white sand beach, turquoise blue waters, together with a superb view of the Gulf, gives to it a perfect look of tropical paradise as high as its reputation.
Some of Samui's best hotels, spas and resorts are found here, along with all kinds of restaurants (Thai cuisine of course but Italian, Indian, Japanese, Chinese, Mexican among others as well), bars, disco clubs, tailor shops and souvenir shops. Chaweng is the nightlife centre of the island. There are many bars and discotheques where you can enjoy bustling dance until 2.00am. - Lamai Beach
Lamai Beach is the second most popular beach of the island. 10 kilometres from Chaweng, it is a smaller and quieter beach. It has about two-kilometre white-sand stretch on the island's eastern coast. Beachside attractions include health and meditation centres, dive shops and a Thai boxing school. The Grandfather and Grandmother rocks at Lamai are worth a visit. There are the open market name's Lamai Market and the old monastery, which includes a local museum. Take a walk or ride a mountain bike just back of the beach road and you'll discover peaceful coconut and fruit groves.
In the evening, numerous small souvenirs and food stands along the main street, bars and restaurants, "live music", and if you want to follow the last sports events live, go to "Bauhaus Pub" on the main road, Lamai Centre.

- Bo-phut Beach
Bo-phut Beach, a two-kilometre sandy shoreline fringed by coconut palms leaning over the sea. This is a very nice village, remained typical with beautiful wooden houses, a good atmosphere of fisherman's small village, the Fisherman's Village one of the oldest places on the island, and the beach with a magnificent sight on the island of Koh Pha-Ngan.
Bo-phut has the "main street" along the beach about one kilometre. It is rich in style and variety of shops, from the oldest local shop selling anything and nothing, to the most elegant restaurant. Each of these shops offers a unique touch.

- Mae Nam Beach
Mae Nam Beach is on the north coast of Samui is a five-kilometre golden white beach devoid of noisy bars and clubs. It is too quiet that it attracts mainly families and couples out for a good, tranquil swim. The sand is not as smooth as Chaweng's and the sea not as shallow, but it provides a quiet and remarkably tropical feeling. It is a great place to go windsurfing, especially in November and December. You can easily find a low budget hotels or bungalows here. Bang Rak is a venue of Samui - Phangan ports. It also has a seafood market which gathers many kinds of fresh seafoods from fishing boats directly. Therefore, you will see many inexpensive seafood restaurants along the main road. Unfortunately, not many people know that the sand on Bang Rak beach is white and tender as much as on Chaweng Beach.
Choeng Mon Beach is a beautiful headland with several bays eastwards of Big Buddha, a little away from the rest of the island, very quiet. There is no village strictly speaking, more a couple of hamlets on the bays. Just some small shops selling first necessity products, a kind of outside limit... There are also no nightlife same as Mae Nam Beach, but you can always easily go to near by Chaweng by car / taxi or motorbike.
