Oh yeah, we’re GREEN too.

By admin • Jul 8th, 2008 • Category: Lead

Welcome back!

Yeh! We are in green

Many web sites may claim to be environmentally friendly, but we’re doing something about it.

We realised the impact of everything that the company uses and leaves behind in the course of our daily work. All of the resources that we use - paper in the office, ink printing, electricity, even the gas in our cars that bring us to the office or go some where - leaves behind some kind of soul-sucking residue in the world.

With a bit of research we found the most effective approach begins with resource conservation: turning off the lights, reducing travel, printing on both sides of the page. Efforts are being ramped up here daily to do what we do with less. We use coffee cups made from fully renewable resources, no plastic bag, no foam boxes. The next step is to use clean, renewable energy.

Most of us understand that we need to do something, some of us understand what to do but few of us are actually doing anything…

How to go green?

We are going to add big lists of handy guides to help you green your lives with ease, while understanding why and will continue to add daily so do come back to visit. And please tell your friends, family and colleagues!

  1. Maybe I’m being a little bit crazy here, but wouldn’t the most “Green” thing be working from home? That way no one has to drive anywhere!

“Green” is a movement that is a little bit off - everything can stand to be Greener, but then you sacrifice production. So how does one decide when they are green? I mean the fact you are using paper at all may make some feel like you aren’t green at all!

It’s a crazy movement, I think the moral of the story should be if everyone just does a little bit things will get better. That’s all.

  2. here in the philippines, being green is a big responsibilty but this responsibility can help the future generation. that’s why we are also green in our home

  3. yea green is the new way to go keep it up

  4. I’ve been using double sided printing since 1989 :)

It saves paper, and weight in my bag when I have a 200 page research report to read.

  5. Oh! I love it! Thanks you ^^!

  6. I like a green :D thanks for your info

  7. Definately green is the way of the future. we dont have a choice, embrace it or lose it :)

  8. we must love green.. Nice info…

  9. Keep going… GREEN!

  10. I love to Green..

  11. There is no time like the present to get on the Green Train. As for me, my hardest task is getting my children to realize the importance of this very subject. There isn’t a day that goes by and lights, TV, or Computers are left on. From time to time I try and educate them on the importance of conservation. One day they will have to explain all this to there children. I sure hope I do my job.

  12. I love your proactive approach to reducing your carbon footprint. You are right there is many websites out their that “Talk” about saving energy and reducing waste but it is all just fluff. If we want this world to change and to be healthy for our kids we need to get passionate about it. Great post!

  13. Great post! I’m concerened that with the media focus on the current economical crisis, ‘green’ issues are not taking a priority. Also, some feel intimidated by the whole ‘green’ issue. I feel the best way is to start off small, incorporating elements into ones daily routine. Yours is a great example of easy ways to ‘go green’ whilst having fun. Keep it up - I would love to read more of your writings on this.

  14. Increasing Greenery may reduce the issue of Global Warming…So we have to take steps towards making our surrounding green by having more and more plants and trees…Help to Save Earth

  15. It’s never late to become green!

  16. lets go green everybody….^_^

  17. Bravo! I love to see when people doing something, not just talk about it. A friend of mine have a website about wales and nature. I will suggest him to add your Blog on his “green website list”.

  18. Love to see that you’re green. If only everybody else did the same…

  19. “Maybe I’m being a little bit crazy here, but wouldn’t the most “Green” thing be working from home? That way no one has to drive anywhere!”

I agree with this comment, but think that its almost impossible for everyone to work from home! If you need to travel to update this website, then do it…its a great read. I’ve spent the morning reminiscing of my time on Tao, Lanta, Phi Phi and Phagn Nagn. Amazing.

  20. I unplug all my electronics when I go to sleep or leave work. You may think just turning them off is enough, but many devices are powerhogs even when they’re off.

  21. Lets go green … !!!

  22. Great post. I think everyone should take a look at how they can personally reduce their environmental impact on a daily basis.

  23. Its very nice post I found here. Yours is a great example of easy ways to “go green” whilst having fun. Keep it a good work - I loved to read more of your writings on this.

    Thanks for the sharing

  24. man and wife tv recently had some tips like using a cloth to wipe things in the kitchen instead of paper towels

  25. Individual efforts are commendable, however the real magic occurs when the world co-operates…

  26. It is never too late to go green. Where I live plastic bags are now being charged for in the attempt to encourage people to use cloth bags. While this is a step in the right direction why not just make the plastic bags out of something that will break down. Like corn - they seem to be making plastic beer cups out of them already. Any thoughts?

  27. What a great piece of information…This is exactly what i’m searching for. Really nice post, and by the way, nice blog. Thanks for sharing.

  28. It’s wonderful what you’re doing with your business and that you’re encouraging everyone else. Everyone should do their part.

I think the “Green” campaign has become way too commercial. Now all the corporations are on board with it, promoting their “Green products” and their “Green” charity projects. Why? Because they’ve decided to take advantage of the fact that the general public is becoming more aware of the environment and are taking notice of the issues. This means $$$$$$$$$$$$$ for them because people think that buying their “Green” products is good. But money is all these companies see or are interested in. The same with the “Pink” campaign against breast cancer. I’ve never bought a single “Pink” item, and never will. If I want to donate I will donate directly to the charity, not by lining the pocket of yet another greedy CEO.

The real Green campaign is about individuals finding their own true GREEN products, not buying the same products they’ve always used, but with a “Green” label on them. For example, instead of using chemicals - that harm not only your body but also the environment - for cleaning, use vinegar. Yes. It works wonders. That is a true Green product, not Chlorox relabled. Vingar is a natural disinfectant cleansing product. You can use it on any surface and any clean up job. Get a spray bottle from the dollar store and fill three quarters (3/4) of it with vinegar, a spoonful-size of dishwashing detergent (that’s hopefully biodegradable and not made of petroleum), and fill the rest of the bottle with water. Shake well. You’re good to go. You can use this for everything from wiping counters and furninture to cleaning your bathroom. And you don’t have to worry about poisoning yourself, your children, or pets.

If the smell is too strong you can add more water next time, but a higher concetration of vinegar is better for tougher jobs. But it does a great job of breaking down minerals, water stains, dirt, and stains. And it’s cheap. You can find it in your supermarket in an economy-size jug or smaller bottles. Vinegar is also an insect deterrant. We had ants invading the kitchen, but after wiping the counters throughly with the solution for a few days they retreated. Remember, there is a true Green (aka NATURAL) alternative to every artificial product. So get creative. There’s plenty of information out there. You’ll feel good about doing your part. :D

  29. Great post, we must care of our environment, we cannot let others to contamine our planet. Keep posting and encouraging others to care our planet!

  30. Let’s go green for better world

  31. Hi,
    wonder full post.

we should better care for environment.

  32. I’ve been trying to get greener everyday. I use cloth bags to do my groceries. I telecommute for work so maybe use my car once a month for long distances when it is cheaper to drive then take a bus. I live in an apartment though, so there is only so much I can do.

  33. Excellent post and feel strongly about caring for the enviroment, we should all wake up and act fast if we are to contimue to leave such wonderful places to our children and their children.

Go green, stay green, forever green!!!

  34. Lets save the earth and prevent global warming,,,,,,,, lets go green

  35. This post is very informative. It remembers us about the nature care.

  36. Building green productivity will lead us to get nice environment

  37. Hi,
its nice to read a useful article for beginner like me.
Some of points from this article are very helpful for me as I haven’t
    considered them yet.
I would like to say thank you for sharing this cool article.
    Bookmarked and sharing for friends.

  38. Rob Armstrong’s pictures have appeared in publications such as Birds & Blooms Magazine and the Jackson Hole Explorer Magazine (including the current 2009 cover photo).
    flowers photographs

  39. Nice article! We should all wake up and save the earth, for better world. I am really glad that I found your site.

  40. Yeah we have to take the things in our own hand and start improving our planet and people around us.

  41. Car games are games played to pass the time on long car journeys, often started by parents to amuse restless children. Some such games are designed specifically to be played while traveling (e.g. the license plate game or the Alphabet Game), while others are games that can be played in a variety of settings including car journeys (e.g. twenty questions).
Car games (araba oyunlari) generally require little or no equipment or playing space, making them ideal for playing on the move. Collections of games are available on the Web, in books and on iPhone applications.

  42. It’s the people at the top we need to sort out though, our effect is minimal - the industrial stuff is where it matters. It’s a real pity, because people really care and more and more are beginning to try and take effect!

  43. I agree that knowing how to conserve is a great first step - good job on beginning to go green. I’ve heard that unplugging unused appliances and phone chargers saves a lot of energy over a month & year.

  44. Here in the NYC area going green is just a notion. I hope we can slow things down and use less gasoline especially.

  45. yea green is the new way to go keep it up

  46. That is good Efforts my friends, I agree so

  47. Everyday should be green day for all of us.
    great

  48. Another “green” blog that keeps world live in harmony. Go go go… GREEN !

  50. I agree on this let go green… let save the the mother earth for we are the one who live here lets take good care the environment not just for us but for the future of our children..

  51. keep sharing guy.

  52. Wonderful post.I love green.

  53. Yeah I have heard and seen of many more green blogs like this but this one is unique.

  54. Let’s go green. Make our environment a healthy environment

  55. Excellent post and feel strongly about caring for the environment, we should all wake up and act fast if we are to continue to leave such wonderful places to our children and their children. Individual efforts are commendable, however the real magic occurs when the world co-operates…

  56. Being green has become a real necessity. Although “green” has become more like a trend these days, it’s important to understand why we need to do be responsible for our actions.

  57. I think just turning off the lights behind you is such a simple way to conserve energy that many people are too lazy to do. It also helps your bills go down significantly =)

  58. I think something we overlook everyday is exactly what we’re already doing. We’re getting our information online and not printing things out. We’re communicating our thoughts from our homes.

  59. it’s looking nice… i love it…

  60. Horray for Green!

  61. If you ain’t going green then you’re just plain mean! Everybody let’s save the planet! Thanks for sharing

  62. There are lots of ways to support being GREEN. Like what it started on cars, gadgets, computers, and even in a simple ways of supporting the mother earth from the harmful waste.

Better we start it now, lets go green!

  63. I do want to get to Thailand. I’d like to visit Phuket and Phi Phi Island. Maybe in a couple of years. I hear they’ve recovered quite nicely from the Tsunamis. Resilient people. God bless.

  64. Saving energy is very very important these days. Looking for the option and bringing renewable source of energy into use is gaining importance, simple things like switching off lights when not in use, turning off engine at traffic lights can make a huge difference as drops together makes an ocean. I use Blackle.com the energy saver version of Google for saving energy using a black screen saver and not too heavy screen saver also help in saving electricity to a great extent. We can add in our own small way. All we need is to get aware and save energy, conserve energy.

  65. Many posts of you blog ans visited and found very interested stuffs like review content and images, all are fresh and greeny. I like this source. Good keep it up.

    Inder

  66. Green is the latest new thing. Keep it up for sure!

  67. For many of us we need to do start doing the simple things correctly and on a regular basis - as you have mentioned switching off the lights. using the dishwasher less, turning down the thermostat and putting on a warm jacket, buying a bicycle and taking public transport to work if possible. All these little things add up. Then once we have mastered these energy saving methods we can then move on to other bigger projects to save the planet.

  68. Going green is the only way to go, if you seriously care about the future of our planet. If only we can get the masses on board, we could ALL do our part. :)

  69. Yes going Green is definitely the way to go!!! We conserve in every way that we can!!!!!
    Viva la Green

  70. When it pertains to making a change like going green i think one of the hardest things ever is getting started. I can tell you the absolute best thing we can all do is to make ourselves come out of our comfort zones and at least start this Go Green Initiative or add to what we are already doing to make the world a better place.

Congrats Koh Samui great job! If we would all follow this example the world would be much better place to live!

  71. very nice work i really liked the post keep up the good work

  72. I support this movement with all my heart. I hope that you will inspire other, too. Many have yet to realize, how devastating our impact on mother nature really is. And some still pretend, there even isn’t any.

  73. Yes, green is the only possible way in the period today!

  74. The best green improvement I think by far is the new (well to my area anyway) weekly composting that gets put out with the recycling. You never knew how much garbage consisted of food waste until we started using the green boxes.

  75. Yes! Green is the way to go!!!!

  76. Good to know. Green is the way to go if we want to preserve the environment. Cutting back on paper is really easy when have technology that can replace it.

  77. When talking about environment I got to say that I like how kids wrong now thinking about being environment friendly and It’s a shame that the once that put the world most in danger are corporates directed by grown ups who doesn’t care about it only about money…

Go to see that some people is still caring.

    Best Regards

    Carla

  78. Green is always the way to go! I try to stay green as much as possible.

  79. Almost everything can be done green today.

  80. Is nice to see that someone is actually doing something about it, instead of just talking and talking.
I must admit I do a lot of crazy things and I can’t really call myself green, I am dependent on the energy, as I use my PC everyday but if it’s one little thing that I do is I never throw plastic bags or beer cans when I go out camping. It is so sad to see a beautifull mountain landscape that takes your breath away and at the side of the road piles and piles of garbage left by lazy tourists. Because that’s what they are: LAZY. Seriously it doesn’t take more than 5 minutes to gather everything and put it in a garbage bag to dump it where you should.
That’s all the ramble for today, hope I didn’t bored you with it.
    Gree(n)t(h)ings,
    Stefan.

  81. Hi,
    wonder full post.

we should better care for environment.

  82. Let’s go there together))

  83. Something need to be done to convince the world to get on board. Our efforts are only as strong as our numbers and right now, there are far too many people that just don’t care. This “nothing’s gonna happen in my life time” attitude makes me sick to my stomach.

  84. Green is the way of the future, you should be commended for helping promote that to all your readers, i wish you luck with for the future, Thanks

  85. I think “Go Green” must be socialized to every of us. We will get many advantages from that.

  86. It is nice to hear that someone is making a statement regarding “Green”. Now we are facing danger and the mother earth is taking its actions that awakens the people to know how devastating life could be when destroying most of it.

    Supporting your advocacy.

  87. I love green, That is good Efforts my friends

  88. Thanks for this article, it’ important to make the people aware of this. There are so many small things what you can do to protect the environment for example switch off your computer when not using it or use your own bag and don’t take a new one every time.

  89. superb post to get people thinking about the actions of their everyday activities. I just read an article about 4 spots in the pacific that are full of plastic waste becasue of the current patterns that corale all this matter into one spot. Also read that an eco warrior is building a boat of recycled plastic to sail across this ocean. if all of us undertook just 5 “green” amendments to our lives then collectively in no time we would reduce the burden on the planet significantly.

  90. i see your point here, thanks for the information :D

  91. Hello everyone we have to protect the enviroment, we have to be green too… let’s go

  92. I have also gone green myself!

  93. Thats really good to know. you are doing great job. Thanks for sharing :)

  94. It saves paper, and weight in my bag when I have a 200 page research report to read.

  95. Beautiful scenery of greenery good article everyone should follow this

  96. Thank you very much for your information. It was a great help.

  97. Everybody round the world are going green these days since we all aware of the growing environment pollution. I am also green now.

  98. Green is the way of the future, you should be commended for helping promote that to all your readers, thanks

  99. Wonderful post, and look, I got link love twice! :-) One of these days I’ll have to write another post of folks I follow often; not that I haven’t done it already.

  100. yea green is the new way to go keep it up

  101. information is well ,good post ,Benefit of this Article

  102. @ Mr.Radio Maybe I’m being a little bit crazy here, but wouldn’t the most “Green” thing be working from home? That way no one has to drive anywhere!

I agree , but after all , renewable energy and stuff like that , are cool , we can apply it to our daily life from home! waiting for your handy guide !

  103. From everything we have read here, the Koh Samui looks beautiful, and Marie and I are very tempted to book travel arrangements immediately.

On the other hand, we have been listening to Thailand’s government talking about how important it is for Americans to be Greener, and we agree very much.

For example, the entire world production of crude oil works out to about one and one half liters of crude per day for each man woman and child on Earth.

Americans on average already use six liters of crude per day, more than three times our allowable amount, if we are to change our ways of living in order to truly be Green.

So, there’s the dilemma. If Marie and I stay home, and not waste the energy required for us to travel, in addition to having someone house sit for us, care for the family dog, and generally maintain our property while away, we will be much Greener.

In other words, we will do exactly what the Thai government is asking all Americans to do, and stop using so much energy.

But, if we listen to that message, we won’t be able to come to Koh Samui.

So, this is a sincere question: Do we follow the Thai government’s leadership and stay home, not wasting the energy, knowing that already Marie and I are not Green because we use three times our share of crude. Or do we make an exception and come to the Island.

If we do that, all the time we are away we will be using not three times our share, but five times our share of the world’s crude.

That means then that we are, according to Thai leadership, being gluttonous with regard to our fair share. And, of course, we agree.

We really are struggling here. We want to be Green in the eyes of the world. Yet we also want to travel. Can’t do both I’m afraid.

So, which path would you suggest we follow and why?

We will take your advice very seriously, since you are in a unique position to comment regarding our dilemma.

Marie and I just loathe our image as wasteful Americans. We don’t want to make it any worse.

  104. I think everyone should take a look at how they can personally reduce their environmental impact on a daily basis.

  105. same as me, i’m green too. we need go green for the sake our earth

  106. Nice we should better care for environment.

  107. Yes, being green is very important and when everyone focuses on the small things like turning off lights, not wasting electricity from unused heating/air conditioning, it can have a huge impact!

I also read not long ago the US will be spending more on researching alternative sources of energy, its great to see the Americans taking it more seriously

  108. You should post more green photo

  109. I’m glad to here that there is another person who is taking action to save and preserve the planet. One more way to make your site green is to have darker colors. White uses the most energy from the computer that displays it.

  110. Absolutely! I totally agree with you. We have to start saving resources. We have to take steps to stop using plastic. Thats the first and the most harmful resource to nature. Lets urge to use of paper to start off with. It time we vigorously start acting on it. A great post. Thanks for sharing this post with us.

  111. Be green,be healthy with pollution free environment i.e for the sake of earth helps to reduce global warming.

  112. I cordially appreciate your initiative. In fact I personally believe and apply it in my personal and working life. For example alerting my family members from wasting fresh water, minimum electricity consumption, gardening in the balcony and roof etc. In my office most of the time I communicate with my clients through email or phone, not through paper. I don’t own motor vehicles and travel by bus so as to control air pollution. If a bus contains 40 passengers it means less consumption of petrol or fuel.

Thus I am trying to make my world more greener. I do it whole heatedly.

  113. I think it’s informative and useful for me. I have noted some points from this article. Your article is really interesting! Go green, stay green, forever green!!!

  114. When I got kids I began to care more about our environment and was enthusiast in doing something to preserve it. The earth we live in is the same planet where our kids and the next younger generation will live in so let’s do something to make it better.

  115. Good to see at least there are people who care for the environment.I support green too.

  116. Go green! nice article

  117. We should all wake up and act fast if we are to continue to leave such wonderful places to our children and their children. Individual efforts are commendable, however the real magic occurs when the world co-operates. Great topic.

  118. I’d like to visit Phuket and Phi Phi Island. Maybe in a couple of years. I hear they’ve recovered quite nicely from the Tsunamis. Resilient people. God bless.

  119. I think the moral of the story should be if everyone just does a little bit things will get better. That’s all. but thanks for your post.

  120. Oh I love your website, Im from your neighbor Malaysia and so far only had managed to reach Bangkok and Surathani. From that brief visit I can see how friendly and courtious our Thais neighbour is thus make me eager to visit more esp. Koh Samui .after watching MeetParents movie where this place is mentioned I put them in my top list. Talk about green, currently Malaysian Government had started the campaign and this is a good catalyst. TQ

  121. Green!! we are love living in green
for the sake of world we need go green!
    thanks

  122. Great post, It is av ery serious issue, The whole world should be green, Keep sharing the good posts.

  123. Good work going green!

  124. I just love your article :) wonderful work :)

  125. I have watched these days some episodes of “Captain Planet and the Planeteers”. Great idea of promoting ecology and the green mentality. I wonder why it didn’t work then…. i hope it’s not to late if you start to be green, but it needs all of us to save the planet. If is still possible…
